NYABINGHI ONE TWO ORDER

Rastafari or the Nyabinghi drumming has an big role within the livity. It is one of the things that bring InI together. All the mansions within Rastafari play the Nyabinghi Drums or Harps how some like to call it. Its origins come out of Africa and came to the islands through the slave trade. It is used to pass on messages, communicate with the Most High, to invoke spirits, run of negativity, give energy and to give Praises. When the drum arrived in Jamaica, it was with the first free slaves that the drum got reintroduced into the community. Being a method of communication between long distances, in this manner ones could be warned about oncoming slave holders or army troops, like where they were at and with how many. It became an important factor in free nyahbinghi and maroon communities living in the hills. From there it spread over the whole island once slavery got abolished becoming a part of Jamaican society in the form of music and spiritual practice. Spiritual practice through Rastafari who held on to the One, Two riddim, that stands for “Do Good” which is used as a Chant to remind ones and ones what is all about. Do Good, is a very simple and clear message, and if lived to its fullest, one will achieve that what is intended for InI, which is to be in Inity with the Most High YAH, and receive the Blessings that come with that. Which is clear insight, happiness and good health among other things.
In the beginning when the Faith of Rastafari started, the Nyabinghi drumming sessions were often directed at negative forces what we call babylon, devils and demons. In those times there was a lot of oppression going on, against all colored people but especially Rastafari. So this was InI method of doing something against this, by Chanting, together with the Nyabinghi drum, to appeal to YAH to do something against this situation, in the form of Judgment for those who deserve it. Rastafari are Loving and Peaceful beings but also strong and militant, so in this form of Nyahbingi we are still able to make a difference in the balance of Good and evil. Without having to take up arms and get involved in a physical confrontation. Some might say that Chanting and Drumming wont make any difference when it comes to fighting against wicked forces, it is also difficult to see directly and prove. But InI as Rastafari have this faith, and know that there is spiritual power in doing things this way, and that it definitely effects individuals who the attention is put on. And that within the groups that are busy doing these things, proof has been delivered. For outsiders it difficult to see and therefore accept.
Other then using Nyabinghi to chant for Judgment, it is also used to give Praises to the Most High YAH Rastafari. Now in these times that the tension between the oppressors and Rastafari is not so high, the Chants have eased a bit and are more in the light of giving Praises and positive messages about Africa or Love, and is more focused on Doing Good. Do Good, Do Good...al ways and for Iver and see what will happen.

Blessed Love.
