This page is all about Music as it has the power to transform, inspire, heal, uplift and create great joy in people’s life. Music is something that binds us as humans, as most of us love it, and eliminates borders and cultures. Music moves people emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually, and has great power to inspire and influence ones. It are often the music artists who have made an impact on people’s lives through the message they expressed, that are the most celebrated and respected artists.
Never the less this success doesn’t seem to inspire many other singers to follow in these footsteps, as we can see that most popular music being made is about relationships, Love and not really meant to uplift listeners intellectually or spiritually. These songs can be real nice to listen to, but they don’t really influence people on a higher level of consciousness. We also feel as if most people don’t listen to the lyrics good enough and focus more on the overall sound of the Music. We would like to add some awareness in this and put more importance on the lyrics because of the uplifting and Life/World changing possibilities that come with that.

GENRES

We have added Music from different genres, but all the songs contain some kind of positive and uplifting message.
We know not everybody likes Reggae as much and that some people would like to listen to something else sometimes. And as this is not strictly a Rastafari and Reggae website, we want people with different tastes to find something that that they like to listen to.

REGGAE

“Music is the Rod, and We are Moses.” 

Words from Reggae Star Garnet Silk and very true, because Reggae is much more then just a Genre.
It is the Rod for musicians that are in most cases true Rastafari and bring forth the message of YAH, this vehicle has the potential to awaken and deliver the people back To Zion just like Moses did in his own way in his time.

Reggae is the best example of what kind of good Positive music has for people, Reggae is all about the Message…and has Proven to help many people learn about themselves, others and the world in general. Truly the most inspiring music that we have and we would like to make people more aware of this.

We would like to encourage people to pay more attention to the lyrics, because Reggae is all about teaching and sharing knowledge, and once people get to learn more about it, reggae can have much more meaning and can give more wisdom, knowledge, overstanding and pleasure to the people. A lot of people don’t listen to the lyrics and don’t really get the full experience that Reggae offers. Some people say they don’t overstand the words, but Jamaican or Patois is mostly english with a certain accent and some grammatical twists, so it should not be too difficult to learn for english speaking people. Sometimes people might not overstand all the words but the main message is there and easy to find… (click Here to learn some basics of patois, if you want more overstanding) We have made a large collection of Reggae songs that show what Rastafari is all about, also we are making a collection of lyrics to make it easier to overstand the songs better. The songs are in a certain order, to assist in overstanding what the lyrics of Reggae and Rastafari are about.

Although the music presented here is Free thanks to Youtube, it is meant for promotional and educative use and we strongly urge to support these musicians.
Most known reggae artists don’t earn as much as other music stars and often still live a simple and humble Life and also give a lot back to the family and community. Reggae singers are trying to help us in the struggle of Life, working for human upliftment. So let’s support them helping us and keep the cycle of giving flowing.
And Naturally not only the reggae singers but all the singers that make conscious music, so it might become more popular and interesting for other artists to do the same (make more conscious music).
We know many people don’t have enough money to buy a lot of cd’s, so for the less fortunate this is a good place to enjoy and learn from the music. For the people fortunate enough to have some spending money, we encourage to buy some cd’s or songs instead of only downloading them or listening online. This will help the conscious musicians and thus Life a lot.
We see is that music in other genres that is uploaded on youtube will usually get deleted pretty fast because of copyright laws being broken and the big american music companies taking action to prevent their music being listened to for free. Reggae labels don’t seem to have a big problem with this, and we give thanks for this as it a testimony of our sharing nature and made it possible to express the livity of RASTAFARI. With this website we aim to give something back for this in the form of potentially increased sales and performances as we intend to reach a wide music listening public who would not have had the opportunity to get to know about us.
We have made personal pages for the artists and added links to websites where people can buy their music. Also we have provided a biography of all the singers and contact information along with interviews to encourage bookings for concerts.
