Biography:
Interviews

Born Keith Anderson, in Jamaica 1944, has been credited as one of Jamaica’s most influential reggae songwriters.  He also worked as  a vocalist, but is best renown for his songwriting abilitiy.  He was a member of the Paragons, actually a founding member with, Howard Barrett and Tyrone Evans.  In 1966 he recorded his first solo “I’ve Got to Go Back Home”, followed by many other great titles like:  “Too Experienced”, “Unchained”, and “Desperate Lover” are among a few.

Bob Andy also composed songs for others to perform like, Marcia Griffits and Ken Boothe.  For five years in the late 70’s early 80’s, he tried his hand in acting which, eventually, brought him back to the music to record and release the ‘Freely’ album, in 1988.  Bob Marley’s 60th brithday concert was held in 2005, and Andy performed there in front of hundreds of thousands of spectators, making his first ever trip to Africa a success.  On top of performing in the Ethiopian President’s Palace, he also gave numorous benefit concerts for 12 Tribes in the area.

As stated below, Michael Prophet cited Bob Andy as his influence and credits him with paving the way for Prophet to capture his dreams!!
