Blessed Love,
Repatriation is one of the main objectives for Rastafari, from the the beginning of the movement this has been on the agenda.
It is also a subject that is often addressed in Reggae songs.
His Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I granted a piece of his private land to All Africans living in the diaspora and created the Ethiopian World Federation to assist in the effort of this return. This was the first time an African leader made such a move and was never done since. Ghana has recently opened their borders for Africans living abroad but have not made land available where InI can settle, so that is for the more fortunate ones who have the money to buy land or have the ability to work and survive their on their own.
For Rastafari Repatriation is something seen different, we are not looking for migration back to the Motherland for the fortunate ones. But a collective endeavour in which we first get reparations and with that money set up communities or do our thing with the acquired funds.
Most Rastafari or Africans living in the west are doing so in downtrodden circumstances, still suffering from the affects of colonialism and are not able to make this move without the assistance from governments or either through the collective of the people living all over the world who would like to assist in this matter. Many people today living in riches are doing so because their forefathers profited from the slave trade or the segregation in which they had opportunities that Africans did not have. So it is for everyOne who can see and acknowledge this to make a donation, how big or how small, some have have more abilities then others. If this is done on a wide enough scale there will be less need for governments to step up and do this. As it seems they are having a hard time to go along with this idea of Reparation and are even having trouble to make a simple apology, probably because they know that if they make an apology they will be admitting that their former leaders were wrong and this could lead to legal lawsuits in which they are forced or strongly urged to go along with a re-payment plan.
To give an example governments all over the world are giving or gave Israel money for their return to Israel, Germoney and USA in the forefront, Billions has been granted to Israel since 1942 and payments are still coming in 2021.
We don't have a problem with this, if governments feel compelled to do something to assist a people to become a nation, it is their right to do this, good for Israel...All blessings for them.
What we do have a problem with is that Africans living in the diaspora are not even granted an appology let alone any Reparations, not even one cent! has been given to InI, when everybody knows that the 400 years of slave trade with all of its atrocities is the worst thing that has ever been done to a people, in the whole history of this planet and the effects are still visible and felt today in the form of racism towards Africans, less opportunities, living in the worst conditions and post traumatic stress. This is an easy to see fact, bad things have happened to many different people throughout time, but nothing on the scale of what Africans have had to go through, let us not forget the 1000 years of oppression by certain Islamic groups before the European slave trade arrived.
Do we need to explain this further or is it obvious and does it make sense that Reparations are in order?
This by the way could also be good for Anyone partaking in this endeavor, governments or personal people as this can wipe away some of the bad karma that is attached to countries and people for things done by their ancestors. Other then that it will restore a certain balance in the world that is now messed up and causing tension that no body with a good mind whats to live with. It can cause a sense of relieve for the ones giving, and a sense of forgiveness from the ones receiving, as their is grate deal of mistrust, envy and even hatred towards certain people from Africans living in the diaspora.
So REPARATION and then REPATRIATION, is what we are asking for.
Give Thanks
